Energy Efficiency Fund to be launched by year-end

The Energy Efficiency Fund’s preparation for a full-fledged launch will be completed by the end of 2018.

Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Utilities of Ukraine Hennadiy Zubko said this at a presentation of Ukraine’s energy efficiency system, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"The Energy Efficiency Fund will be launched by the end of the year," Zubko said.

According to him, within the next 60 days, independent members of the Fund's supervisory board will be selected, and then the Fund's management will be appointed. In parallel with this, the preparation of the Fund's products and services is taking place.

In addition, Acting Head of the Parliamentary Committee for Fuel and Energy Complex Oleksandr Dombrovsky noted that the funds allocated for the work of the Fund from the budget can be spent on the 'warm loans' program.

"Funding of the program was cut off when people needed to prepare for the heating season, for increase in gas prices," Dombrovsky commented.
