Polish PGNiG supplied 220 mln cu m of gas to Ukraine in first half of 2018

The Polish oil and gas company PGNiG supplied 220 million cubic meters of gas to Ukraine in the first half of 2018.

"In the first half of 2018, PGNiG supplied 220 million cubic meters of gas to Ukraine. This is slightly less than last year, but we expected greater turbulence after the ruling of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in dispute between Gazprom and Naftogaz," Vice Chairman of the PGNiG Management Board Maciej Wozniak said in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent.

The company expects the situation to stabilize by the end of the year and "negotiates on next gas supply contracts [to Ukraine]," he noted.

Last year, the Polish PGNiG supplied more than 700 million cubic meters of gas to Ukraine.

As reported, on February 28, 2018, the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce ruled that Gazprom pay to Naftogaz $4.63 billion for the shortage of agreed gas transit volumes. Earlier the debt of the Ukrainian side for the gas supply in the amount of $ 2.018 billion was confirmed. Following two arbitration proceedings, Gazprom has to pay Naftogaz a total of $2.56 billion.
