Ukrainian president, Israeli minister discuss trade and economic cooperation between two countries

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Minister of Environmental Protection, Jerusalem Affairs and Heritage Minister of Israel Ze'ev Elkin.

"The interlocutors discussed an intensive trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and noted significant prospects for its further development. In this regard, they agreed on the need for the earliest possible signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Israel," the press service of the head of state reported on Tuesday.

The president discussed with the minister, who is also a co-chair of the Israeli part of the Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the results of its recent meeting in June.

Poroshenko noted concern over the current facts of non-admission of Ukrainian citizens to the territory of Israel, despite the visa-free travel regime for the citizens of both countries. He called on the Israeli side to take all possible measures to improve the situation in this area.
