Energy Efficiency Fund to help modernize residential sector – Groysman

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that the State Energy Efficiency Fund will soon be launched in Ukraine, which will enable the comprehensive modernization of the residential sector in the country.

In a post on his Facebook page, Groysman wrote: "Soon the State Energy Efficiency Fund will be launched, due to which we will comprehensively carry out modernization in the residential sector”.

According to him, the government program "Warm loans" for the population shows good results: over 19,000 loans worth over UAH 585 million have been already issued.

"I want Ukraine to become energy efficient so that we do not have to buy natural gas in Russia or anywhere else. To achieve this, we must ... consume as much natural gas as we produce," Groysman stressed.

He also assured that the state continues to increase production and reduce the consumption of resources, as well as apply energy saving technologies.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers established the State Energy Efficiency Fund. In particular, the Fund will support energy efficiency initiatives; implement tools and support measures aimed at improving energy efficiency of buildings and energy saving, including in the residential sector; contribute to reducing carbon dioxide emissions in order to implement the Paris Agreement; conduct communication activities related to raising the level of awareness of the population in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency; promote compliance with Ukraine's international obligations in the field of energy efficiency.
