Economic Development Ministry offers to create state system for critical infrastructure protection

The Economic Development and Trade Ministry has drafted a bill on the creation of a state system for critical infrastructure protection and submitted the document for public discussion, the ministry’s press service reports.

“The law establishes the principles and directions for the development of the state system to protect critical infrastructure, determines the legal and organizational principles to ensure its activities and is an integral part of the Ukrainian legislation in the sphere of national security. The adoption of the bill will ensure the creation of a state system for critical infrastructure protection, introduce unified approaches to the organization of management of the system's objects at state and local levels, determine the principles for interaction between state agencies and business entities, society and citizens involved in the critical infrastructure protection,” reads an explanatory note to the bill.

The ministry noted that the proposed concept of the draft law was agreed with  the Security Service, the Interior Ministry, the State Emergency Service, the National Guard, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, the Defense Ministry, the Infrastructure Ministry, the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry, the Energy Ministry, the Agrarian Policy Ministry, the Regional Development Ministry, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection, the State Environmental Inspection, the State Water Resources Agency and others.
