Ukraine, Czech Republic agree on gradual liberalization of passenger and freight traffic

Ukraine and the Czech Republic have agreed on the gradual liberalization of relations in the sector of passenger and freight traffic between the two countries.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic reported this following the results of the regular meeting of the Ukrainian-Czech Mixed Commission on International Road Transportation with the participation of the delegations of the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine and the Transport Ministry of the Czech Republic.

"The parties considered the current state and prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of passenger and freight traffic between the two countries, as well as certain issues of concern. The sides reached a principled agreement to move along the path of gradual liberalization of relations in this field, taking into account the consistent implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU in Ukraine," the report reads.

According to the embassy, following the meeting, a protocol was signed that noted positive trends in the growth of road transport between Ukraine and the Czech Republic against the background of the intensification of trade and economic cooperation between the countries and the intensification of contacts between the peoples.
