Ukraine exported grains worth almost $6.4 bln in 2017/2018 MY

In 2017/2018 marketing year, Ukrainian agrarians delivered 39.4 billion tons of grain crops to the foreign markets worth USD 6.4 billion.

This is reported by the press service of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry of Ukraine with reference to the data of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.

The largest buyers of Ukrainian grains within this period were Egypt ($724 million, 11.4%), China ($594 million, 9.3%), Spain ($459 million, 7.2%), Indonesia ($375 million, 5.9%) and the Netherlands ($348 million, 5.5%).

As for the types of grain crops, Ukraine exported 17.8 million tons of corn worth $2.86 billion (China - 16.4%, Egypt - 13.6%, Netherlands - 12.2%); 17.2 million tons of wheat worth $2.83 billion (Indonesia - 13.3%, Egypt - 11.8%, Bangladesh - 8.7%); 4.3 million tons of barley worth $0.64 billion (Saudi Arabia - 41.2%, China - 19.3%, Libya - 6.6%).

In addition, 412,600 tons of flour were exported in 2017/2018 marketing year.

2018/2019 marketing year started on July 1, 2018 and will end on June 30, 2019.
