Japanese business considers possibility of participating in Ukraine’s bioenergy projects

Ukraine’s State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving has agreed to hold bilateral meetings with representatives of Japanese business regarding their participation in bioenergy projects.

This is reported by the State Energy Efficiency Agency following a meeting between the head of the State Energy Efficiency Agency and the first secretary of the economic department of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine.

"The State Energy Efficiency Agency presented to the Japanese Embassy in Ukraine the mutually beneficial directions of cooperation between the two countries in "clean" energy. The parties agreed on the need to hold bilateral meetings with representatives of the Japanese business and to present prospects for work in bioenergy projects," the report reads.

In addition, the meeting participants agreed to exchange relevant information and develop such potential areas of cooperation as developing mechanisms for financing "green projects", establishing electric vehicle charging stations and developing mechanisms to stimulate energy generation from garbage.

The parties also focused on the prospects for cooperation in the field of energy production from biomass and garbage.
