Ukrzaliznytsia doubles passenger transportations to EU countries this year – Kravtsov

Since the beginning of 2018, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has doubled the transportation of passengers to the EU countries.

Acting Board Chairman of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov informed this on his Facebook page.

"To Europe by rail. The statistics is eloquent – the number of passengers traveling to the EU countries in the first half of 2018 has doubled," he wrote.

According to Kravtsov, since the beginning of the year PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has transported 100,000 more passengers than during the same period in last year. "We implemented a balanced tariff policy, and as an example, trains to Warsaw and Peremyshl are almost 90% loaded," he said.

In the first half of this year, 187 thousand passengers were transported by rail from Ukraine to the EU countries (81 thousand in last year), and 111 thousand passengers – from the EU countries to Ukraine (47 thousand in last year).
