Agrarian support program, decentralization to contribute to rural development - Groysman

The government's agrarian support program and the decentralization reform will have a very positive result for rural development in Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this at a government meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"There should be a real, self-sufficient, serious farming sector in Ukraine. I will support it in every possible way.  Ukrainian farmers will have to grow and there should be more jobs villages. Together with decentralization, it will yield a great result," Groysman said.

He also said he is sure that the agrarian sector growth will have a positive effect on the economy.

"Our [export] markets are growing. We get new permits for meat exports, so we need to increase production,” Groysman added.

As reported, the government projected UAH 1 billion in the 2018 state budget for the development of farming sector.
