EU extends sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2019

On Thursday, the Council of the European Union formally approved a legal act on the decision of the heads of state and government of all member states to extend economic restrictive measures against Russia for the next six months.

The Council adopted this decision today by written procedure and, in line with the rule for all such decisions, unanimously.

The sanctions were extended until January 31, 2019.

The legal act on the extension of sanctions will be published on Monday.

As Ukrinform reported, at a meeting on June 28-29, the European Union made a political decision to extend the economic restrictive measures against Russia for the next six months.
