U.S. supports course of reforms in Ukraine - Under Secretary of Treasury

The United States attaches great importance to support programs for Ukraine and backs the course and targets of the reforms being carried out by the Government of Ukraine.

Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs David Malpass said this during a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. The meeting was held within the framework of the visit of the Under Secretary of the Treasury for International Affairs to Ukraine on June 22, the Governmental portal reported.

"We have a high level of mutual dialogue, and we have already held fruitful negotiations at the Finance Ministry of Ukraine and we have high expectations for negotiations with you. We support your Government on the path towards economic reforms," David Malpass stressed.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and discussed the course of collaboration with international financial organizations, in particular with the International Monetary Fund.

Volodymyr Groysman, in turn, noted that "Ukraine feels the U.S. support both in the international arena and in carrying out internal reforms."

"We are talking about the restoration of our territorial integrity as well as the economic aspects. We expect new opportunities for our cooperation," the prime minister said.
