Dniester hydropower complex: Ukraine and Moldova ready for negotiations

Ukraine and Moldova are ready to resume preparations for signing a bilateral intergovernmental agreement to ensure a proper functioning of the Dniester hydropower complex.

This is reported by the press service of the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine upon the meeting of Deputy Minister for European Integration of Ukraine Natalia Boyko with Economy and Infrastructure Minister of the Republic of Moldova Chiril Gaburic.

"During the meeting, another important issue of the Ukrainian-Moldovan energy relations was discussed. The parties agreed on the terms of operation of the Dniester hydropower complex," the statement reads.

It is noted that the officials expressed their readiness to resume the talks on preparation for signing of a bilateral intergovernmental agreement on functioning of the Dniester hydropower complex. The agreement is expected to become a main international document on operation conditions of this facility to ensure its safe and trouble-free functioning.
