Azerbaijan's Trade House opened in Kyiv

On June 22, the Trade House of Azerbaijan was solemnly opened in Kyiv.

The event was held with the participation of Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev and Ukrainian First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We are interested in cooperation with Ukraine, and the Trade House will facilitate the implementation of joint business initiatives. We will also discuss the opening of such trading houses in the regions of Ukraine. Representatives of almost 30 companies representing their products in the Trade House attended the event," Mustafayev said.

Among the presented products are teas, mineral waters, alcoholic beverages, cosmetics, vehicle oil and others.

According to Shahin Mustafayev, 150 Ukrainian companies are registered in Azerbaijan.

In turn, Stepan Kubiv stressed the importance of developing bilateral cooperation between the countries, strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the countries.

"One of the common goals is to increase the volume of mutual trade up to $1 billion per year. The next step for cooperation will be the opening of the Ukrainian Trade House in Baku. More than 30 companies have expressed interest in this matter," Kubiv said.

He said that the volume of trade between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in 2017 increased by 2.7 times compared to 2016 and amounted to $772.1 million, and for four months of 2018, the volumes increased by 41% up to $268.2 million compared to the same period of last year.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine and Azerbaijan will also strengthen cooperation in the energy sector.
