Ukraine’s gross foreign debt decreased by $288 mln in first quarter – NBU

During the first quarter of 2018, the gross foreign debt of Ukraine decreased by $288 million - to $116.290 billion.

This is evidenced by the data of the National Bank of Ukraine on the economic and financial indicators of Ukraine in terms of gross external debt, published on June 19.

According to the NBU, the gross foreign debt at the end of the first quarter was $116.290 billion, compared to $116.578 billion at the end of the fourth quarter of 2017.

At the same time, in the general government sector, the debt increased from $38.886 billion to $39.153 billion during the quarter.

In the sector of the Central Bank, Ukraine's foreign debt decreased from $7.438 billion to $7.403 billion.

In the sector of other depository corporations, the external debt increased from $6.236 billion to $6.286 billion.

In other sectors, Ukraine's foreign debt decreased from $54.466 billion to $53.861 billion.

Direct investments (intercompany debt of Ukraine) increased from $9.552 billion to $9.587 billion.
