Exports of Ukrainian goods to the U.S. amounted to $219 mln in first quarter of 2018

In the first quarter of 2018, exports of Ukrainian goods to the U.S. amounted to $218.9 million and increased by $25.6 million.

This was reported by the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine.

"The exports of Ukrainian goods to the United States in the first quarter of 2018 amounted to $218.9 million and increased by $25.6 million. Over the past three years, the Ukrainian steel products (including flat and long products, pipe products, semi-finished products made of steel) were exported to the U.S. at the amount of $119.6 million in 2015, $89.7 million in 2016 and $175.6 million in 2017," the statement reads.

On June 4, Ukraine's Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Natalia Mykolska was on a working visit to the United States of America. The main topic of the planned bilateral meetings is the exclusion of Ukrainian metallurgical products from the U.S.-imposed restrictive measures. The Ukraine's trade representative will hold meetings with representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Department of State and Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 23, 2018, the U.S. introduced an additional duty of 25% on imports of certain types of steel products in order to protect the U.S. domestic market.
