Ukraine and Israel to ratify free trade agreement as soon as it is finalized

Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy says that the free trade agreement with Israel will be ready in a few weeks for prompt ratification by the parliaments of both countries.

"We actually speak about a few weeks when the agreement will be finalized and both the Ukrainian parliament and the Knesset [the parliament] of Israel will be able to ratify it. I believe that it will be a very important step in the economic relations between Ukraine and Israel," Parubiy said at a briefing on the results of his official visit to Israel.

He also stressed that the parties agreed on the immediate ratification of the document upon completion of its preparation.

Apart from the economic cooperation, Parubiy discussed the issues of national security during his visit to Israel.

As reported, on March 28, Ukraine and Israel agreed on the completion of the negotiation process regarding the provisions of the Free Trade Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the State of Israel.
