IFC interested in strengthening cooperation with Ukraine in private sector, agriculture

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, expects to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine, primarily in private sector and agriculture.

The IFC representatives discussed this at the meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, the Government portal reports.

"We are very interested in the development of private sector projects. We are looking forward to cooperation in the field of renewable energy and in the agricultural sector. It is an extremely promising area," said Stephanie von Friedeburg, the Chief Operating Officer for IFC.

In turn, Groysman recalled that the relationship agenda, including on specific projects of support for the reforms and certain industries, had been formed at his recent meeting with the World Bank directors.

He also briefed the interlocutors on the latest innovations introduced by the government in the agricultural sector, primarily with regard to support for small farming.

Groysman also told about the great potential of cooperation in industry, primarily in the context of its technological renewal, and urged the IFC experts to join the modernization of Ukrainian economy and industry.
