Groysman, Nasalyk, Altmaier to discuss Nord Stream 2 on May 14

On Monday, May 14, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk will hold a meeting with Germany's Economy Minister Peter Altmaier, during which they will present Ukraine's position on Nord Stream 2.

Minister Nasalyk said this to journalists after a government meeting on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"On Monday, at 8:00 am, I meet with the German economy minister, and then the Ukrainian prime minister meets with him. We will outline Ukraine's position on Nord Stream 2, as this is not an economic project, it is a political project that aims to squeeze Ukraine out of the transit of Russian gas," he stressed.

The minister notes that Russia’s proposal to transit gas via the Ukrainian gas transport system (GTS) at the level of 10-15 billion cubic meters is unprofitable for Ukraine.

As reported, on May 13-14, Economy Minister of Germany Peter Altmaier intends to visit Kyiv and Moscow to discuss "energy and economic policy issues".
