US suspends duty-free benefits for 155 types of Ukrainian goods

The Office of the United States Trade Representative has suspended the effect of the Generalized System of Preferences for 155 types of Ukrainian goods.

This is reported by the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine.

The Generalized System of Preferences allows duty-free import of over 3,500 types of goods from Ukraine into the U.S. territory. The preferential tariff system has been suspended for 155 types of goods, in particular, some products of food, consumer goods, woodworking, engineering industry, certain electrical appliances.

The list of product groups, which no longer use import preferences from April 26, is available here.

The Economic Development Ministry of Ukraine is in constant dialogue with the U.S. government and works to resolve the problem. At the same time, lifting restrictions within the framework of the Generalized System of Preferences largely depends on the adoption of a draft law on collective management organizations adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
