About 200 state-owned enterprises close down every year - Economic Development Ministry

About 200 state-owned enterprises close down in Ukraine every year.

First Deputy Economic Development Minister Maxim Nefyodov stated this at a briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to the official, the share of state-own enterprises in Ukraine decreases every year.

"About 200 state-owned enterprises terminate their activities every year, primarily because of corruption, ineffective management and lack of investments," Nefyodov said.

He also added that according to recent estimations in Ukraine "3,444 state-owned enterprises are managed by the Cabinet of Ministers, not taking into account the enterprises of the National Academy of Sciences, the State Management of Affairs and others".
