Ukrzaliznytsia already built and purchased 1,230 freight wagons in 2018

Since the beginning of the year, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has already built and purchased 1,230 freight wagons, which is six times more compared with the same period last year.

Board Chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov wrote this on his Facebook page on Tuesday, April 2.

"We continue to maintain a good pace in renewing our freight wagon fleet. Over the past three months, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia has already built and purchased 1,230 open wagons, of which 805 were built at own capacities, while the rest were purchased from manufacturers. It is six times higher compared with the same the period last year - 132 open wagons were built and none was purchased,” he wrote.

According to Kravtsov, the Paniutynskyi wagon building plant has remained the leader in the construction of freight wagons.

The head of Ukrzaliznytsia also added the company plans to purchase another 7,000 freight wagons in 2018. In particular, Ukrzaliznytsia intends to build 3,600 cargo wagons and buy 3,450, of which 3,000 for the raised funds.
