Omelyan: Infrastructure Ministry, Ryanair holding talks on launch of flights to Kherson

The Ukrainian Infrastructure Ministry and Irish low-cost airline Ryanair are holding talks on the possible launch of flights from the city of Kherson to the EU countries.

Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan told this to LB.ua.

“Together with the Kherson Regional Administration, we are holding talks with Ryanair so that flights of this airline can be lunched from Kherson airport to the countries of Europe next year. I hope that negotiations will be successful. Mr. Hordeyev [the head of the regional administration] has already visited Dublin. He has held talks with the company. We’ve received optimistic assessment," the minister said.

Omelyan noted that it is extremely important for Ukraine to ensure the work of this airline in Kherson.

"This will give an opportunity to our people who live in Crimea to fly to Europe, because they are actually isolated from the world because of the Russian occupation," he said.

As Ukrinform reported, Boryspil (Kyiv) and Lviv international airports signed agreements with Ryanair on the start of flights to Ukraine.
