Groysman: Ukraine, Latvia may double mutual commodity turnover to $800 mln

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that Ukraine and Latvia may double the level of commodity turnover up to $800 million.

“Ukraine and Latvia are ready to double mutual commodity turnover - up to $800 million. We are working on the projects of joint companies to enter third-country markets. We discussed this with businessmen from Riga, Liepaja and other cities of the Republic of Latvia last week," Groysman wrote on his Facebook page.

According to him, agricultural producers, representatives of the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, IT sector and transport industry attended the meetings.

“I'm interested in business success. It is the basis of economy, the source of investment, and the key impetus for the development of the state,” Groysman stressed.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman was on an official visit to Latvia on March 1-2. In particular, the Ukrainian prime minister held meetings with Latvia’s President Raimonds Vējonis and Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis. The delegations of the two countries agreed to strengthen the political dialogue and enhance economic cooperation in the context of mutual commodity turnover, as well as implement common projects in third-country markets.
