Poroshenko: We have enough gas reserves in underground storage facilities

President Petro Poroshenko has stated that Ukraine has sufficient natural gas reserves in its underground storage facilities.

“The situation with gas supply has stabilized, we have sufficient gas [reserves] in underground storage facilities,” Poroshenko said, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The president also thanked Ukrainians who responded to an appeal of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine to decrease gas consumption in the country.

"I thank Ukrainians for the solidarity they showed yesterday, having responded to the appeal to reduce gas consumption. Ukraine has reduced gas consumption by 25 million cubic meters," Poroshenko said.

He stressed that such savings amounted to 14% of overall gas consumption.
