President hopes for new financial assistance from Europe

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expects the European Commission to approve a new macro-financial assistance program for Ukraine on Wednesday.

He said this at a press conference "Challenges 2018" in Kyiv on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The European Commission should adopt or has already adopted a decision proposing a new macro-financial assistance program to Ukraine. We are waiting for news from Stockholm. I hope that this happen today, possibly during our press conference. I'm sure that everything will be fine," Poroshenko said.

The European Commission said at the end of the last year that it was ready to consider further macro-financial assistance to Ukraine if the country intensifies reforms.
