PM Groysman meets with head of IMF technical mission

A technical mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has begun its work in Ukraine.

Today, February 12, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting with IMF Mission Chief for Ukraine Ron van Rooden, the Governmental portal reported.

The purpose of the mission is to discuss practical issues related to the continuation of the work of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF).

In March 2015, the IMF approved a loan program for Ukraine with the introduction of an Extended Fund Facility (EFF) totaling $17.5 billion for a period of four years. Ukraine received the first tranche worth $5 billion in March 2015, the second one worth $1.7 billion in August 2015, the third worth $1 billion in September 2016, and the fourth tranche worth $1 billion in April 2017.

Ukraine is expected to receive the fifth and sixth tranches in the current year if it fulfills the IMF conditions, including the creation of an anti-corruption court and the introduction of market gas prices for population.
