Ukraine launches 4G in March

Ukrainians will be able to use 4G Internet already in March-April 2018.

General Director of Vodafone Ukraine Olha Ustinova said this in a commentary to an Ukrinform correspondent following the announcement of results of bidding.

"We are ready. We are testing it so far, and we’ll start in March-April," she said.

Today, the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization has sold bids at a tender for 2600 MHz frequency range for the development of 4G technology in Ukraine to leading mobile operators.

Vodafone won the sixth lot with a bid of UAH 345 million with the starting price fixed at UAH 286 million. It also bought the seventh lot for the starting price set at UAH 286 million.

Kyivstar bought the third and fourth lots for the starting price set at UAH 293 million. The fifth lot cost it UAH 303.3 million, while the starting price was set at UAH 286 million.

Lifecell won the first and second lots with a bid of UAH 601.6 million and UAH 307.65 million with the starting price set at UAH 572 million and UAH 293 million, respectively.
