Ukrainian delegation arrives at Ukraine-Bavaria Economic Forum

The Ukrainian delegation led by First Vice Prime Minister – Economic Development and Trade Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv arrived at the Ukraine-Bavaria Economic Forum to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Germany.

The press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry posted on its Facebook page: "Germany is one of Ukraine's most important trade partners in the EU. Today, the Ukrainian delegation led by Stepan Kubiv has arrived at the Ukraine-Bavaria Economic Forum to deepen cooperation between the countries."

Over 9 months of 2017, the bilateral trade between Ukraine and Germany grew by 27% compared to the same period in 2016, and the total commodity turnover totaled almost $6.6 billion. Ukrainian exports to Germany grew by 23.1% up to $1.6 billion. The most popular export items were electrical machinery, seeds and fruits of oil plants, ores, timber and metal products.

At the same time, Ukraine remains attractive for German companies in terms of investment. For 9 months of 2017, the amount of investment increased by $213 million. As of 1 October 2017, Germany invested in the Ukrainian economy $1.8 billion, of which $1.1 billion was investments in the industry.
