Naftogaz purchased 20.9 bcm of gas in January-November 2017

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in January-November 2017 bought 20.9 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas, which is 2.0 bcm more compared with the same period last year, the company’s press service reported.

“In January-November 2017, Naftogaz purchased 20.9 bcm of gas, which is 2.0 bcm more than in the same period last year. In 2017, as well as in 2016, no gas was imported to Ukraine from Russia. All supplies were sourced from European suppliers,” reads a report.

The share of imports totaled 39%, with 61% procured from PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

In particular, in January-November 2017, Naftogaz imported 8.2 bcm of gas, which is 1.2 bcm (17%) more compared with the same period last year. This year, Naftogaz has been purchasing gas from 12 European suppliers. None of those suppliers accounted for more than 30% of total gas imports.

In general, the largest volume of natural gas in 2017 was imported to Ukraine from Slovakia - 9.2 bcm (7.8 bcm - in 2016), Hungary - 2.7 bcm (0.8 bcm in 2016), and Poland - 1.2 bcm (0.8 bcm - in 2016).

Also, in January-November 2017, Naftogaz purchased 12.7 bcm from Ukrgazvydobuvannya (11.9 bcm of gas - in January-November 2016). Naftogaz buys all commercial gas from Ukrgazvydobuvannya (except for the volumes of production and technological costs and those used to meet own needs related to production, preparations for transportation and transportation of gas, as well as for the production of liquefied natural gas and stable gasoline.
