Decentralization is most successful reform project in Ukraine - deputy PM

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utility Services Hennadiy Zubko has said that during decentralization local leaders assume responsibility for community movement forward.

He said this during a conference "Decentralization, Land Management and Community Development" in Kyiv on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Decentralization is the most successful reform project in Ukraine... Decentralization is primarily decentralization of leadership. Leaders who grow locally take responsibility for moving forward," Zubko said.

He thanked all the communities already united and added that communities that are still not united ineffectively spend their time and resources.
