PM Groysman expects average wage in 2018 to grow to UAH 10,000

Economic growth next year should ensure an increase in the average wage to UAH 10,000.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this on 112 Ukraine TV Channel late on Thursday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Our task is to raise social standards. But the economy should be able to take such figures. Next year we need such an economic growth so that the average wage could be not less than UAH 10,000. At present it totals UAH 7,400,” Groysman said.

He also stressed that economic reforms scheduled for the spring would lead to an economic breakthrough.

"Then we will be able to more rapidly perform the tasks that have been accumulated over the last years," the prime minister added.

The Verkhovna Rada on December 7 approved the state budget for 2018.
