Government approves medium-term debt management strategy for 2017-2019

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the medium-term debt management strategy for 2017-2019.

"The goal of the medium term public debt management strategy for 2017-2019 is to define the main objectives of public debt management, tasks and activities to achieve such goals, as well as setting targets for the public debt management for a medium term perspective," reads the report.

The strategy is aimed at achieving the goals at the end of 2017, 2018 and 2019, in particular: the ratio between a country's government debt and its gross domestic product should be at the level of not more than 66%, 62% and 58%.

The strategy will contribute to an increase in transparency of public debt management policy and improve the efficiency of public debt management in general.
