One Ukrainian soldier wounded in ATO zone over past day

One Ukrainian soldier was wounded as a result of hostilities in the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) zone in eastern Ukraine over the past day.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Spokesperson for ATO issues Oleksandr Motuzianyk said this at a press briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in an enemy attack on our position near Pisky. He was immediately taken to hospital,” Motuzianyk said.

He added that Russian-backed militants over the past day launched 23 attacks on the Ukrainian positions. Ukrainian troops returned fire 13 times.
