Naftogaz bought 19 bcm of gas in January-October 2017

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in January-October 2017 bought 19 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas, which is 14% more compared with the same period last year, the company’s press service reported.

“Over the first ten months of 2017, Naftogaz purchased 19.0 bcm of gas, which is 2.4 bcm (14%) more than in the same period of 2016,” reads a report.

The share of imports totaled 40%, with 60% procured from PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

In October 2017, Naftogaz purchased 1.5 bcm of gas, including 1.1 bcm of gas bought from Ukrgazvydobuvannya and 0.4 bcm of gas imported from the European direction.

In 2017, as well as in 2016, no gas was imported to Ukraine from Russia. All supplies were sourced from European suppliers.

Over the first ten months of 2017, Naftogaz imported 7.5 bcm of gas from the European market, which is 1.7 bcm (29%) more than in the same period of 2016. This year, Naftogaz has been purchasing gas from 13 European suppliers. None of those suppliers accounted for more than 30% of total gas imports.
