PM Groysman: Kyiv-Toronto direct flight to be launched in summer 2018

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman has said that the regular flights Kyiv-Toronto will be launched in the summer of 2018.

The relevant agreement was achieved following the meeting of Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman with Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne, the government’s press service reports.

“I’m pleased to announce that Kyiv and Ontario will become even closer next summer. The Ukrainian UIA opens the regular flights Kyiv-Toronto. This will significantly contribute not only to the strengthening of human relations, but also will open up new opportunities for business development, especially in the context of the entry into force of the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement (CUFTA) on August 1, 2017,” said Groysman.

During the negotiations, the sides also discussed the issue of reforms being carried out in Ukraine. Volodymyr Groysman stressed that among the top-priority goals for the Ukrainian government are the reform of the public administration, decentralization, the reform of the state procurement system, tax reform, the reforms of judicial, pension, healthcare, education sectors, as well as the reform of state property management and the privatization of state-owned companies.

Moreover, Groysman said he hopes that Canadian investors, particularly from Ontario, will take advantage of the Ukrainian market, which is becoming more and more attractive due to the implementation of reforms.
