Groysman seeks adoption of law on criminal responsibility for exerting pressure on business

A working group will soon be established in Ukraine to elaborate a bill on strengthening responsibility for exerting pressure on business.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman expressed this opinion at the round table "Culture of integrity as the driving force of sustainable development", an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Today I initiate the establishment of a working group which would promptly, within two or three weeks, submit to the parliament a bill providing for responsibility (perhaps, even criminal) of representatives of law enforcement agencies and supervisory structures for exerting excessive pressure on business," Groysman said.

The Ukrainian PM noted that the government had the political will to elaborate such a bill but invited the lawyers, who represent the business, to take part in its drafting.

"I would like those, who really interfere with the work of the business, to be responsible for their actions, even to bear criminal responsibility. We must put an end to pressure of law enforcement agencies once and for all," the Prime Minister said.
