EBRD to assist Ukrainian ministry in reforming water resource system management

The Ukrainian Ministry of Natural Resources and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have begun the process of establishing the H2Office project office aimed at reforming water resource system management, the government’s press service reports.

"A supervisory board has been set up with the participation of leading experts in the field of public sector reform in Ukraine, experts in water management, irrigation and drainage, representatives of international organizations and the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the plan for the H2Office project office has been approved," reads the report.

The newly created office is expected to work on a pilot investment project for the reconstruction of the irrigation system in Southern Ukraine.

As earlier reported, the Ukrainian government applied to the EBRD for the assistance in reforming the water management system, in particular, by developing and further implementing a pilot project at one of the irrigation systems in Southern Ukraine.
