Groysman: Ukraine to become energy independent state by 2020

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman is confident that Ukraine will become an energy independent state by 2020.

"We keep up with the times! We are developing the use of solar energy in the south of Ukraine, where there are the most favorable conditions for this, and in other regions," Groysman wrote on his Facebook page.

He cited an example of a power plant in Bessarabia, which has operated since 2013, and can adapt 1,100 households to electric power. Powerful solar power plants are also located in Vinnytsia, Kherson and Khmelnytsky regions.

"We are steady in purpose to become fully energy independent state by 2020," the prime minister stressed.
