Mayor Klitschko: Kyiv raised almost 60% of foreign direct investment last year

Almost 60% of foreign direct investment last year accrued to the capital.

Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko said this at the Kyiv Investment Forum on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Kyiv is the leader in investment activity. A large number of resources were funneled into the city's economy last year, and almost 60% of direct foreign investments accrued to the capital," Klitschko said.

According to him, Kyiv also attracted 30% of the total volume of capital investments in the country.

"The figures are very positive, and this is a good indicator both for investments and the development of our city. In 2016, Kyiv strengthened its position in the primacy of the economic development among Ukrainian cities, as evidenced by record increase in city revenues by 22%, i.e. more than UAH 38, 5 billion. I can assure you that Kyiv has ambitious plans to become a comfortable and attractive city with high living standards and a leader in reforms," Klitschko noted.
