First investor enters Ukraine within CUFTA

TIU Canada energy company has become the first foreign investor in Ukraine within the framework of the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement.

This is stated in the company's press release, available to Ukrinform.

"TIU Canada becomes the first Canadian investor in Ukraine to use the rules of the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement which entered into force on August 1. TIU Canada, a subsidiary of Refraction Asset Management, launched construction of a solar power plant worth €10 million in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, this summer. The plant with a capacity of 10MW will supply power to local residents and enterprises," the statement said.

"We are proud to be the first investor within the framework of the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. However, most importantly, this will allow TIU Canada to provide Ukrainians with clean energy," said Valentina Belyakova, director of the TIU Canada office in Ukraine.
