Vice PM Kistion: No reasons for raising natural gas prices for population

The Ukrainian government sees no objective reasons for raising the price of natural gas for the population.

Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion stated this during the first sitting of the Coordination Center for ensuring the introduction of the new electricity market, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"At present there are no objective reasons for raising the price of natural gas for the population. Negotiations are being held with the IMF that Ukraine has implemented the IMF requirements. The commitments signed with the IMF will be fulfilled," Kistion said.

As earlier reported, David Lipton, First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, said that natural gas prices in Ukraine are very low compared with the neighboring countries.
