EBRD President: We believe in Ukraine as one of our largest markets

Ukraine is moving in the right direction of development, and its progress of reforms deserves greater attention.

President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti said this during the meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, the Government portal reports.

The EBRD President noted that restoration of Ukraine's economic growth was a very good sign: "I think this is very good news. Much more needs to be done and a long way to recovery should yet be made, but Ukraine is moving [along this path]."

Chakrabarti  stressed that Ukraine remained one of the largest investment facility of the Bank. As noted, the EBRD leadership expects successful implementation of a number of joint projects already started, particularly in the private sector, gas, municipal and railway transport sectors and in the reform of large state-owned companies.

"We believe in Ukraine as one of our largest markets. This is a powerful signal for other investors," the EBRD President said.
