President sure parliament will support pension reform

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he is confident that the Verkhovna Rada will support pension reform and this will help raise the pensions of Ukrainians this autumn.

The head of state said this, while opening a building of the regional children's hospital in Kropyvnytsky, Kirovohrad region, on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"I'm confident that the Verkhovna Rada will vote for and support proposals from the president and the prime minister of Ukraine, and this autumn we will have an opportunity to talk about raising the pensions, first and foremost, for all those who have more years of work experience," Poroshenko said.

As reported, on May 17, 2017, the government led by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman approved a package of bills that would help conduct pension reform and submitted it to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration. On July 13, the parliament voted for the reform package at first reading.
