Government approves state concept of heat supply and energy strategy until 2035

The Ukrainian government has approved the Concept of Implementing the National Policy in Heat Supply and Ukraine's Energy Strategy until 2035 'Security, Energy Efficiency and Competitiveness', an Ukrinform correspondent reports after today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

“The major task of the energy strategy is to reduce energy consumption of Ukraine's economy by half until 2020,” Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion stated, commenting on the adoption of the energy strategy.

However, Kistion asked for the follow-up revision of the energy strategy, as it contained the mechanism implementing incentive tariff making (RAB regulation) and the so-called Rotterdam-plus coal pricing formulas.
