Ukraine’s GDP grew by 2.4% in second quarter – Economic Development Ministry

According to the data of the State Statistics Service, Ukraine's gross domestic product grew by 2.4% in the second quarter of 2017 compared to the corresponding quarter of 2016.

This has been reported by the press service of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry of Ukraine on Monday.

"The key prerequisite for growth is economic reform, improvement of business expectations and growth of consumer activity against the background of salary increase," the report reads.

In addition, as noted, a positive impact was produced by price surge on commodity markets and high level of construction activity at manufacturing and infrastructure facilities.

The Economic Development Ministry expects the continuation of the positive GDP dynamics at the level of about 1.8% -2%.
