Ukrainian agricultural exports to Canada already total $5.8 mln this year

The revenues from Ukrainian agricultural exports to Canada for January-June 2017 amounted to $5.876 million while they totaled $4.869 million for the entire 2016.

Deputy Agrarian Policy and Food Minister of Ukraine Olha Trofimtseva announced this, the Ministry’s press service reports.

"Despite the fact we are still net importers in bilateral agricultural trade with Canada, we see a fairly significant trend towards an increase in the volume of our exports. According to the statistics for the first half of 2017, Ukrainian agricultural exports to Canada amounted to $5.876 million. At the same time, this figure was only $4.869 million for the entire 2016. Another advantage is that the key commodities of our exports were the processed food products: butter, juices, honey," Trofimtseva noted.

She added that now Ukraine could deliver to the Canadian markets 108 categories of agricultural goods at a zero rate of import duty due to establishment of the free trade area between Ukraine and Canada.

As reported, the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement came into force on August 1, 2017.
