Lycamobile expects to attract about one million Ukrainian subscribers in a year

The international virtual communication operator Lycamobile is planning to attract about one million Ukrainian subscribers by the middle of 2018.

Lycamobile project partner Volodymyr Kosterin said this during today’s press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“The company can reach one million Ukrainian subscribers in the coming year. We applied to the regulator [National Commission for Regulation of Communication and Informatisation] for such a number of cards," Kosterin said.

In turn, Lycamobile Director General Chris Tooley said the operator will provide services in Ukraine using the infrastructure of the Trimob network (owned by PJSC Ukrtelecom). In the absence of TriMob coverage, Lycamobile will work through Vodafone Ukraine.

At the same time, according to Tooley, the company will not open its own stores, but sell products through partners in the market.

Lycamobile is the world’s biggest international mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which provides low-cost, high-quality data and voice services across 21 countries.
