Ukrainian Finance Minister discuss State Fiscal Service reform with foreign partners

Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk has discussed the comprehensive reform of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli.

"On July 20, Oleksandr Danyliuk met with U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli, Chairman of the Technical Mission of the IMF's Tax and Budget Department Peter Barrant and Director of Cooperation of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine Karim Morcos to discuss the comprehensive reform of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine," the statement reads.

As noted, Danyliuk thanked the representatives of USAID, U.S. Treasury, EDGE and European Commission for the support and partnership within implementation of the reform. The meeting participants discussed the progress of the reform, while the minister stressed the need to create an independent supervisory council to monitor the implementation of the reform and outline further priorities.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the concept of reforming the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine on March 29.

The reform envisaged by the concept provides for optimization of the SFS structure, introduction of information technologies, anti-corruption measures, improvement of staff and labor remuneration.
