Airports of Ukraine: Air tickets may drop in price

The Association “Airports of Ukraine” of Civil Aviation has offered the Ukrainian government to reduce the price of air tickets by decreasing the cost of aviation fuel via the introduction of tax incentives, as well as by canceling VAT on domestic flights.

The organization stated this in a letter to First Vice Prime Minister – Economic Development and Trade Minister Stepan Kubiv, avianews.com reports.

"To reduce the cost of air tickets, the Association proposed abolishing VAT for domestic flights and all related services, introducing a procedure for carrying out and financing socially important air transportation under Article 96 of the Air Code, ensuring the reduction in the cost of aviation fuel by introducing tax incentives on raw materials for the production in Ukraine, as well as temporary reducing the excise tax on kerosene imports, reducing Ukzaliznytsia tariffs on the transportation of fuel, and revising airport fees for the right to provide filling services,” reads the report.
